Cartridge interchange

Hello... I have a half dozen Savage 99's and was wondering about the interchange of cartridges. If I put a 308 barrel on a .303 rifle, will the magazine carrier accomodate the .308 cartridge? How about the .300 carrier? Thanks, Lee

No!!!!

In fact if you tried to put a 308 barrel on an old 303 Sav action the pressures will most likely be to high for it and end up getting you hurt.

Plus the fact that a Chicopee and Westfield 308 barrels have a V thread and the action of the Utica receivers is a square thread.
