Doing a 7mm build and wondering if there is an issue with using a 338 win hog hunter as a donor. I have never laid eyes on a hog hunter rifle but it's a cheap base rifle with a DBM and an accu trigger. Second does anybody know if they are small shank or large shank typically? My donor I bought already is a blind mag stagger feed and isn't feeding well for a hunting rifle.

with a DBM and an accu trigger.
All Hog Hunters I have seen have blind mags. Have not seen one in 338 in person however.

Most are blind mag? Maybe I should pick a different base rifle?
My last three donors where 338 win hog hunters. They feed great, they are standard shank and blind magazine.

D.ID do you know if the 338 win mag hog hunter will feed a 375 ruger round? Also does the hog hunter have a plastic trigger guard and can it be replaced?
Can't say specifically about the 375 ruger but if it normally runs from a standard magnum magazine it should be no problem.
Trigger guard is plastic but of course it can be replaced.
