History of 1959 Left handed 110?

I have a 1959 production left handed 110L in 30-06 that I am trying to home in on. Does anyone have information on when left handed models were first produced and what the starting serial number might be? :o

Left handed models were introduced in 1959. I have no information on what the starting serial number was.

Thanks for that. I did not realize until tonight how early this one is. The s/n is in the 23000-24000 range (closer to the upper number) and it occurred to me that it might be more significant than I thought. Any idea if this being first year LH production affects value? :p

Mine is in the 44000 range.

It's early but not that close to the switch from 58-59.

The flip was closer to the 16000 serial range so your a few thousand guns away from the turn over.

I really don't think it would affect the value any either way. It's nice to have an early 110 for purely vintage reasons but they're a bugger to rebarrel or modify in any way compared to what you can do with the A series models.

My dadinlaw bought a 110L in 308 back then, when he was 11. He saved money from his fishing worm business to buy his first deer rifle! Because he was small then, of course, he cut the stock with a Skil Saw. I made him a new fancy walnut stock a while back as that original stock was pretty beat. It came out pretty good, but my skillset has improved exponentially since then and I honestly would like to get the rifle back and redo the stock better and stipple the grip areas and such. Maybe some day my lefty daughter will carry that rifle!
