Hello Savage community!
I have been considering a short barreled bolt gun in 223 to carry around the ranch. i settled on a hog hunter in 223 installed a pica-tinny rail on the receiver and a nikon monarch 2x8 with throw lever rings so i can quick change to a dot sight if i prefer. I might consider changing to a bottom magazine conversion someday so i am researching that now. I will be using it for coyote hog skunk and ferrel dogs etc. does anyone have any experience with the best ammunition for this model out to say 400 yards??
