well boys and girls,i ordered the new axis bolt handle the other day as soon as it became available.waiting on delivery and will review asap.
was told it was a new design machined specifically for the axis platform.i was going to make my own but replacement handles here are hard to get and the cost would be about the same so i figured i would try out the new design.
here is a copy of the info:
Bolt handle (http://gladesarmory.com/savage/68/savage-axis-tactical-bolt-handle-right-hand-stainless-wblack-cross-hatch-knob.html)

CNC machined Tactical Bolt Handle for the Savage Axis. This part has been designed, developed and tested on the Savage Axis platform and is indexed to provide scope clearance while maximizing leverage and ergonomics for fast bolt cycling. CNC machined from a solid piece of carbon steel and threaded in industry standard 5/16X24. This part incorporates our new Ferritic Nitrocarburized finish (Melonite). This process, in adition to blackening the part, creates a very hard surface layer that should prove to be very durable and corrosion resistant. The surface hardness of the part falls between 600 to 820 on the Vickers Scale (HV), which is about 55 to 62 on the Rockwell C scale. Below the surface layer, the process also imparts a hardness of about 45 HRC.
We are including a black anodized aluminum cross hatch knob.

What is the difference between the bolt handle that costs $54.99 vs the one that costs $64.99?

$54.99 fit 10/110, $64.99 made for Axis. Axis has different primary extraction design.

got the bolt handle in a week from fla to canada.
it's absolutely perfect and DOES have the primary ejector.it matches the oe handle exactly but longer and a better angle it seems.no more hitting the scope with my knuckles.;)
clears my 6-24x50 scope with lots of clearance.....mind you i have medium rise rings to accommodate the scope size to start with.
i can add pics if anyone is interested...

here is a copy of an email i sent to them as a small review.

VERY HAPPY!

I would like to thank you for manufacturing this bolt handle specifically for the axis.
the fit and finish are perfect,I highly recommend this product for anyone who owns an axis rifle.
the angle is great and with the added length,i no longer hit the scope with my knuckles when cycling a round.
There is ample clearance between my scope and the new handle as well,in my case I'm using a 6-24x50 on a .223 axis.
I know glades went through a lot of trial and error on this bolt handle before it was finally ready for the consumer and it was well worth the wait.
thanks,i love it!

Looks good! It's nice to see the Axis getting more aftermarket support.

blink,

A little off-topic here, but I have to say that the photos here showing the dipped stock are much more impressive than the photos in your original post on the dipped stock...maybe because these are "up close & personal"!

Great, Now I have to get one of those. I keep hitting my knuckles too. Will be ordering one soon.As I said, I will be ordering one of those. Took 13 days from time of order to arrival. They are in Florida I believe while I am in Canada. 7 miles from the USA and I can just barely see the Pacific ocean from my back deck. Yeah, I could have sped up shipping and sent it to my Washington address at the risk of ticking off the USA border officers had they found it in my car on an outgoing search. Dang ITAR rules anyhow. http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p242/edzzed/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05/CAM00907_zpsvie0iuvj.jpghttp://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p242/edzzed/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05/CAM00908_zpstnfg3zut.jpg
