axis serial number lookup

Hey everyone. I just got a used axis 30-06 from a friend, and I'd like to find out the year it was made. Is there somewhere to look it up with the serial? I tried the savage site but it didn't tell me the year of manufacture.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
