After changing the 243 barrel on my 516 striker to .308 I was ready to start with some reloads . I decided to order a digital scale to weigh my powder and not trust the Lee 3.1 dipper because I wanted every round to be the same . This is when I came across some information that I thought I should share. I have two different powders that I plan to try -- IMR 3031 and Winchester 748 ball . A level scoop of 3031 weighed in at 40.5 gn and a level scoop of 748 weighed in at 48.1 because the 748 is a finer powder. If you use 748 get some scales because 48.1 gr is a Hot load - Maybe too Hot for some guns
