This is my 308 Hog Hunter. Everything worked great until I took the action off the stock to adjust the accutrigger. Now the bold hits the internal magazine lips when I try to close it. I can push the magazine now a little and the bolt will slide forward. I have both action screws tightened to 30 inch pounds. I am sure I did not lose any parts when I took it apart.
Can anyone help?

Did you reinstall the "L" clip onto the rear of mag?

Can't see picture with the link offered

And yes, I did install the L clip, but how can I be sure it is not "slipping"?

The mag has a slot in it that the clip goes in and then the L part goes between the action and stock. That forces the mag down and to stay put at right hieght. May want to check that. When you take the rifle out of stock the mag should fit very tight in place.

Thanks, my magazine does not fit tightly in the stock. I think I will try some shims around the magazine and maybe some blue locktite to hold the L clip to the magazine while the screws are tightened. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know

Was it ok until you took it apart?

Ok just read it was. Was the mag tight in the stock when you took apart the first time?

I don't believe this is the original stock. The metal magazine outer frame was not tight in the stock.

After looking now at picture a little better, that certainly doesn't look like original stock.

Shims or epoxy will work to keep mag in place for sure. I've had to do it on a few over the years.

What stock is that?

I'm pretty sure its this McMillian

Could you post a better picture of the stock? The finish looks more like a Boyds Tacticool.

If your stock is indeed a MCM and you're going to shim or epoxy the mag in place I'd see about eliminating the L clip all together.
Does the stock have pillars?
