Howdy,
I started shooting Bullseye with a custom Springfield .45 several years ago at the Syracuse Pistol club. Eventually got into Benchrest with an out-of-the-box 700 Remington, .308. I glass bed the action and swapped out the trigger for a jewel trigger. Those changes did help improve the accuracy quite a bit. The club I was shooting at had a 100yd range. It was a lot of fun, but I want to shoot longer distances. I now go to Square Deal, Maine, NY, where they have a 300 yd range.
This year I am getting a Savage 12 BR in 6mm Norma cal. I don't have my reload station set up for this, so will pay the price for factory ammo............although I am finding it difficult to find ammo. And since no one will ship ammo to private residences it is tough finding any. But, I'm pretty excited about the Savage rifle. I also got a Vortex scope for the gun.
