I ordered the green w/ black webbing. I am a big fan of the BC Medalist stocks but I'm sure I'll be happy with the M40.

I wanted a Medalist until I heard about the costs/issues of inletting it for my Accurate Mag bottom metal. The new M40 is drop in. I can live the M40 just fine. Stockeys is about 1.5 hours North of me. I can go and fondle said stock.

Nice looking stock. I looked on Red Hawk and they have several views of the stock. I did not see a pilot hole for the back screw for the trigger guard from the pictures. Should there be one or do we drill the pilot hole?

I have a Savage 12 .223 and looking at the 1014-97 ( OD Green).

Charb52 & Bradsc, I don't know the answer to you're questions... I'm hoping Boilerup can pop in on it.

Did I accidentally delete someone's post? My apologies if I did... Fat fingers and little phone :( please let me know if I did

You can either drill a small pilot hole for the rear triggerguard screw, or use a self-tapping one - that material is firm but not too awful hard.

Yes, currently they are short action centerfeed DBM only.

I put 45 rounds through my rifle with the stock today, and it is MUCH more stable and comfortable shooting prone than with the factory tupperware.

My model 10 was already accurate with the cheap tuperware but have you noticed any change in accuracy? I'm thinking we will see more rigidity and overall consistency in accuracy while sustaining more abuse as compared with the old stock.
