I went to remove my stock tupperware stock for the first time the other day and the allen head of the action screw stripped. That joker was tight. I know there is no need for it to be that tight, but WTF..
My 10FP is brand new and this is the first time I have taken the stock off. I did get the screw out.
Where could I buy a new screw? Midway had some for the model 12, and I am not sure if that will fit the model 10. Should I contact Savage for a replacement?

most local hardware stores have them 1/4 x 28

Definitely hit the hardware store. I had to order a replacement screw and action wedge for my accustock from Savage and it took me a while to explain to the CS guy exactly which screw it was. He knew zilch about firearms and kept trying to sell me the first screw he came across in the list (the Accustock wedge screw is not the same as the other action screws on the rifle). And they have a $10 minimum order so I have to order two sets of screws and wedges. :(

Hit the hardware store and save yourself some aggravation. :D
