New savage owner here.

First time savage owner thats not a 17HMR. I found a model 11 in 7mm-08 and I'm converting it to a 6.5 creedmoor. McGowen barrel and boyds stock. Factory plastic won't work because the new barrel is a varmint barrel not the light sporter.

Currently this gun has a blind mag. Can it be converted to a different style? And how hard is that, is it just a magwell and different stock? Thanks for any help

Go to: savagepartsfinder on their site,type in your serial number and a schematic of your rifle should come up showing the blind mag and the removable mag and bottom metal. You don't need a complete mag, you only need the mag bottom which is plastic. If you have problems call them and they should be able to help you but talk to a tech as some of the people that answer the phone are working off common questions asked. There is a guy in the classifieds who has wht you need but you have to be a paid member(15.00) to join and it is well worth it.
