Best twist for 35 whelen barrel for heavy bullets

Going to put a 35 whelen barrel on my savage 116 30-06. What would be the best twist rate to shoot the heaviest bullets?

From what I have had Experience with, 12 twist is what you need for those 300gr Plus gr bullets.

If you had more case volume you could get away with a 14 twist, but with the Whelen's 60gr capacity the 12 twist is the most viable option.
