I'd like to do something different on my savage 110FP 30-06 and was considering buying a new Choate mcmillan knockoff. Has anyone bought one of these and put it on a 110 heavy barreled rifle? What do you think of it? I saw a 10FP 308 that came with one from the factory at the gun range one day and the fit/finish didn't exactly wow me. I guess I could tolerate that if it made the rifle more comfortable to shoot.

Mine came in today. I think I'm going to like it. I had to inlet around the trigger for my Sharp Shooter Supply target trigger, but it was all on the inside so you can't tell. It is beefy and very black. I will probably do a light texture job and break out the Krylon tomorrow. I think it is definitely worth it. It is miles better than the factory tupperware.

Sorry for being to descriptive, ;D
I've had it on for a few days and haven't shot it yet. Been working a lot of hours and it's been brutally hot here in Eastern NC. The rifle has always shot well if the shooter does their job. I'm hoping this stock will improve it over the Tupperware stock. It would generally shoot 175 gr bergers under 3/4 of an inch. But I'm still playing with the load.

Shooting with a heat index over 105 sux. The gun is a stagger feed with blind mag.

I feel your pain...............been hot here in Georgia too, high humidity only makes it worse. Only place I found worse than Georgia (and Vietnam) is Venice La. Worked down there in July on the oil spill doing security. The humidity was so bad it was hard to breath!

I have the short action version with Fred's ACME DPM kit. Everything fits great, seems like a heck of a stock for the money. Haven't shot it yet. Still need to get rings to mount my scope, to see if I'll need a cheek riser. Plan on doing the same paint job as Cletus is running.
