Mounting a Rail Section for Bipod on Accustock.

Should I just use what Atlas Recommends or is there a better option? Will drilling holes devalue my Accustock when I go to sell it at some point? Probably.

Maybe I could remove both swivels since I dont need them and use those pre drilled holes?...somehow.

I'm pretty sure the atlas rail can use the holes from your swivels. Since it's an Accustock, you shouldn't need the inserts in your second link. The screws should thread directly into the aluminum Accustock rail.

Manto, thanks so much. The link you provided gave me the screw/thread size and with some research I was able to answer my question 100%.

Actually I do need the very nice torx .75" Atlas Button Head Screws (only $5) because I am positive my .5" bipod studs are going to be too short given the very thick rail mounting area. I will not need the T-Nuts that come with the screws.

The proper rail is BT17 (not BT15) for flat surfaces which is what I have. it is slotted on one end to fit a wide variety of bipod stud positioning. Very clever! Perfect. Not cheap at $29.95, but perfect.

Pretty happy I got all this sorted out. No drilling or tapping necessary to my stock. I can sell it with out any unsightly extra holes.

These are the two items. (BT15 will not work for me. Lucky I saw it is for curved surfaces!)

Which stock do you have? Are you sure you don't want the curved one? The curve in the rail is radial not longitudinal.

I have a Savage Accustock on a pre 2015 10 FCP-SR...the desert digital one. It has two bipod studs up front 2.5" apart. The stock section there is FLAT as a board in that area....radially and longitudinally..pretty much. Lets just say there is no curve visible to the human eye. The flat rail section is the correct choice. I have a bunch of rails sections for my AR 15 fore arm. I laid one on the stock underside....its flat, man. Flat as the Earth pre Columbus.

Only the rail I have doesn't fit the Savage stud pattern at all. I bought the clever Atlas rail so I dont have to drill and tap any holes. The Atlas rail is quite a clever item that fits a wide variety of stud spacing.
