is there any 10rd mags that will fit the standard savage DBM bottom metal rifles?

When I went to cableas to get the 10T, the guy behind the counter brought out the new savage scout, pulled the 10 round mag out it and popped it in the 10T. Fit no problem. As far as working correctly, I have no idea. Don't want to order one to find out it has issues.

There is a post on AR15.com about magazines for the 10T. Said to call savage and use item number 110570 to order 10 round magazines for the 10T. $58 bucks plus shipping. Here is the link to the post....

I've remained quiet on the new 10-round magazines as I haven't had a chance to fondle one, but now that I have one and just spent about an hour at the range with it so here's my observations.

1. No issues with it not staying in gun or anything like that.
2. Has fed all rounds perfectly thus far, though you do have to cycle the bolt properly like a man and not a timid little girl.
3. It's not a 10-round magazine, it's a 9-1/2 round magazine.

The latter might explain why some have had issues getting it to lock into the rifle if they have their bolt closed when inserting the magazine.

Here's a photo of the mag with just 9 rounds loaded. Note that the rear clip of the magazine sits right in the center of the primer on the top round.

Now here's a shot with 10 loaded. Again, note the height of the case head and how the rear clip of the magazine is pretty much flush with the bottom edge of the primer.

As you can see it sits quite a bit higher in the second photo as the 10th round can't be fully inserted into the magazine. The feed lips provide just enough tension on the body to hold it in place, but this is not a 10-round magazine and you likely won't be able to lock the magazine into the rifle with the bolt closed when loaded with 10 rounds.

You got yours from savage? Was the part number I posted correct or just ask them when I call. Did you let savage know about this issue? Almost false advertisement if 10 rounds won't work.

I was the one who posted in that other forum. I first emailed them back when they introduced them at SHOT show. and i didn't get an email back from them until 3 months later. So I called them after about two weeks and they asked for my serial number of my gun and they gave me a part number of the 110570 and told me it's $58 plus shipping. Then a month ago I wanted a second one and the same thing happened. Asked for my serial number $58 plus shipping.

Finally received a email back from Savage about the 10 round magazines from the scout working in the 10T. They will work. Am waiting on my order from them now.

Hey OP how did you contact them to order the mag? I got a Scout 11 and when I call their number the answering machine just sends me in an endless loop back to its main menu. I'd like a couple of spare mags myself.

Do the scouts come in 6.5 creedmoor? I just ordered a 10t in 6.5cm and want 10 rounders as well! Maybe the 308 mag could work?

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I'm really interested in this

I did a search online for 6.5cm magazines. Seems the 308 mags work. Didn't see anything for a dedicated 6.5cm magazine. If I would have kept my 10T 6.5cm stock I would have found out if the 308 10T 10 round mags work, but changed out the chassis to a cadex and it uses AICS mags.
