6.5 Creed Twist

High Command had authorized the release of funds for a new barrel. I'm planning on going with a 22" barrel since I'll be running my can on it. What's the consensus? 8 or 8.5 twist? I would like to stay with a hunting bullet since the rifle will pull double duty. Maybe the 127gr Barnes or the 140 amaxs. I'd like to dabble in the precision rifle competitions next year. I'd appreciate the info. Thanks gents.

I would go with a 8tw

Anything heavier than 120 at that barrel length you definitely need 8 twist.

Agreed. Go with the 8 twist.

8 is what I use but a 8.5 out shoots me. Could be the indian but might be the arrow or bow.

I have a 10 twist and can stabilize 140s although it is an Ackley.
