Sorry for the late post. I usually cant access this site from work and at home I'm too busy. Savage 10FP .308 caliber with threaded and fluted 5R barrel; and a Vortex Viper PST scope mounted with Seekins 20MOA base and Precision Matched rings. I'm using factory ammo....168gr Federal SMK. Bipod in front and sandbag/folded arm in the rear.

It's incredible how well these rifles shoot. Factory gun shooting factory ammo into a half minute on a howling windy day. Don't hardly get better than that.

That 5r barrel is impressive. sadly and in denile I've worn mine out. I'd gladly replace it with another factory barrel if I could find an exact replacement at a fair price. But who knows, I'm may just go 260

I'm right at 3K. A lot of it was my own doing. I was loading on the hotter side at the beginning stages of my load development when my rig was new.it still gives me tight groupings but consistency of tight groups has tapered off a bit. I've kept on eye on speeds and I've had to reestablish loads due to barrel wear.
Going to have a real close look at the throat and muzzle with a HD SNAP-ON bore Scope which enables me to record what I'm looking at to pc for further close up. I can kick myself for not looking for a slower accuracy speeds in the beginning

Very nice group. If you have the ability, try them at 200 and 300 yards to see how they perform at those ranges.

Only shot one group with that rifle that day. I was very irritated to discver that it was muddy down range and I was wearing good tennis. I went to retrieve that target and the next one I just peppered with my AR15 for the remaining time and left it out there.
