axis 338-06 build

Just purchased a custom 338-06 barrel for my savage axis l/a and was wondering if I can use a regular 30-06 go gauge to head space the barrel to the action? Thoughts and comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Going to have to say yes..take a look at this. Seems the Go and No-Gauges are the same for the cartridges listed. The 338-06 is listed as an "A square" not sure what that means.

+1 - - Use a 30-06 go gauge for 338-06. I have used the 30-06 gauge for 338-06 on an Savage 110. Enjoy your 338-06!!!
