223 Accurate Mag mod for 6mm X 45 Build

I had decided to use .223 Accurate Mags for my 6mm x45 build. The Accurate Mags have a published max OAL of 2.325". I measured my Shilen barrel and had determined that for 107gr Sierra Matchkings I needed to set my ogive at 1.910",.010" off the lands therefore with an OAL of 2.480".


Fortunately the Accurate Mags can be modified to increase the OAL by a little Dremel and flat file work. The modification now gives me a 2.538" max OAL.

Very interested to know details of your 6x45 build, as well as obtained velocities...

The build is still under construction. The B&C Medalist Custom stock is presently at CDI Precision for inletting of bottom metal. The donor action was a .223 rem mdl 10xp bottom release. Action was timed and trued, milled and converted to top bolt release by Sharp Shooter Supply. Barrel nut, lug and Shilen match select 26" 1-8" barrel supplied by NSS. Can't hardly wait to marry barreled action and stock and start load development. I will certainly post results in the future.
