Are there any advantages to the new firing pin design vs the old? I have an older Stevens with the old firing pin, and a newer savage 11 with the new style. The only difference I can tell is the new pin style has less noticeable bolt lift.
This bears another question too. There doesn't appear to be a way to adjust the firing pin depth on the new style. Is this a feature no longer needed?
