6.5x 55 ackley

so im thinking about a 6.5 x 55 sweede ackley,

in a long action it would gain 5 gr powder capacity by being able to seat bullets out long, plus and extra 5 gr or so from ackley dimensions

so basically gaining 10 gr capacity, i would think you could match or exceed 6.5x284 performance with cheaper brass(70$/100 lapua brass) and being able to use LCD

any holes in this story??? anyone done this?

Thats funny Luke. I just brought up my thread again trying to get some info on 6.5-284 in a short action. Hope you have better luck than me. lol

I don't see why you should not be able to reach 6.5-284 performance and then some with this cartridge. My 260 Ackley's are doing everything my 6.5-284 is doing. My hunting load in my 6.5-284 is giving me 2960fps with 140 bergers and my 260 Ackley is giving me 2940fps with the same bullet only much more efficiently. 26" barrels 8 twist.
