Ptg bolt head

I just received a ptg bolt-head and it doesn't have a notch cut out the part that goes into the bolt and locks it in. Is this the wrong bolt head or a mistake on there part. Will post pics when I figure out how

Older Savage rifles had an index lug in the bolt body that you'll need to remove in order to use the new bolt head.

Grind out the bolt body with a dremel.

After that, you'll just have to pay attention so you don't intall your bolt head upside down.

May be an optical illusion but the old one looks like a long action and new one a short action going by the length of the tail.

It's usually wise to ask before firing up the Savage accurizer (dremel).

While you were at it did you polish the cocking ramp, cocking pin, cocking sleeve as well as the primary extraction ramps?

I also looks like you were smart and put the wavy washer between the bolt lugs and baffle.
