Have heard that a 9.25 will stabilize the .243 105 and have heard that it won't. Anyone have any experience with this bullet?

They shoot out of my brother's Savage 22" sporter. I built them, the first 100 shot so well out to 600 yards, he had me build 100 more. They shoot fine in his rifle. I have also heard that some rifles will shoot them and so will not. My buddy has a .243 FVSS 9.25 that will shoot them also. I have a 10 .243 here that I'm going to try them in. I believe it will shoot them.

I have shot 107 SMK's out of my 243 with great sucess. I didn't state it in my other post, but my 243 likes NBT 55gr, 70gr, & 90gr and also likes the 107SMK's.

I might have to try the 105 A-Max's! (or try them in my 6x47 I am going to build!)

I couldn't get the 105 gr AMAX to shoot out of my 1:9.25 twist Savage . . . tried only two different types of powders though . . . The barrel was a 26" chrome, stainless, fluted that came from Savage . . .

Tried some 100grn Sierra Game Kings this weekend. 3 touching @ 100 yards.

Retumbo powder works with the 105 Amax in a 9.25 twist, at least it does for myself and a few others I know. 49 grains which is a compressed load so if you try Retumbo work up to it.

The 105 A max works great in my 9.25 243 factory varmint barrel. Have had good luck with H4350 and N160. Both powders are just under 3,100 fps and under half an inch 3 shot groups. The N160 loaded at approximately 42 grains will stack bullets.
