I took my sons Edge .223 and replaced the adult stock with a factory (OEM) youth stock that I bought from a forum member. I also replaced the factory trigger spring and drop the pull to 3lbs.

Found a load that she seems (repeatable) to like:

CFE 223 26.5 gr
60 gr V-Max C.O.L 2.250
CCI 41 Primer
LC Brass
2993 AVG FPS

That's a nice group. How do you like the LC brass? I was thinking of getting a box and weight sorting some of it to shoot in my bolt gun and using the rest in my AR. Brass has gotten expensive!

I'm part of a gun club so I've been picking up the brass that members leave behind. I resize it twice due to spring back and as you can see it works.

I thought the group was a nice group (considering the cheap OEM stock) and that load is repeatable and not a fluke.

I want to comment on lake city brass. If you are shooting under 200 yds I would go to crazy on weight sorting it to 1 grain. I would think within 4 grains is more than adequate for short range. If going to a 1000 yds then it can make a difference. Lake city is some of the finest brass there is right up there with lapua and norma. It is stronger than lapua too(harder) , I use it all the time. In a gas gun it is the brand of choice.

That's cool. I think I'm going to get a box of 1000 1x, a Lee de-capping die and a RCBS swaging die and spend the time to process them. Even with the tool purchases, it's still way cheaper than buying virgin commercial brass. That will keep me in brass for years.
Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Mr. Coondog.
