I got in a little varmint hunting today, found a flock of crows in a squabble, they did not notice me drive in a field. I only had my Savage Hog Hunter, .223 with me, stopped about 120yds from them. I flipped the bi-pod down across the tool box, Took a rest on one that had a clear line of fire, touched her off and he flew up/ blew up into the air about 2 feet and twirled to the ground in 2 parts! They just kept on making a fuss, most sat still and I shot a second one, PUFF! All to pieces! They all flew up made a circle, about 20 crows, and then lit again, raising a big racket. I picke out a huge one in a fork of a limb, PUFF#2, looked like a black feather pillow had blown up. After the 3rd one, they figured out they had better leave the vicinity. I hate crows!

Sounds like fun. Deer hunting is great, and very rewarding--but varminting has no equal for a man who loves to pull the trigger!!

Sounds like a good day and a lot of fun. I have memories of the same type of thing over the years with my 22-250 and 50 gr. v-max. and 40 gr. Sierra.

Yep, a .22-250 is hard to beat, I have one of the first 112fv, long action ones circa 1990!
