New 11 purchase question.

I'm thinking about picking up a model 11 heavy barrel in 308. I'm pretty sure it has the 20" barrel, no muzzle brake. Everything I've read about it is good with the occasional complaint about feeding problems and some accuracy issues. I'm looking to shoot out to 5-600 with it and it seems like a good rifle to start with. I'll probably put a Boyd's on it and get a better optic in the future. Any thoughts?

I have the hog hunter in 308, 20in barrel and have not experienced any issues at all. It is a sub moa rifle even with the cheap plastic stock, I believe it is a great weapon for the money.I do reload so your mileage may very.

I am a 308 fan and like your choice. The great thing about the Savage platform is that if you don't like your caliber you can change it. Once you have invested in the tools and educated yourself it is a breeze. Do you reload or will you be buying factory ammo?

I do reload. If I do make the jump it'll be fun to work up a good load. I'll ask for that info in the proper forum when needed.
