Availability of parts for savage Edge .308

Is anyone else having difficulties obtaining parts for the Savage Edge/Axis?

In mid May 2014 I ordered a replacement bolt head from my local gun shop. They passed this order on to the Australian distributor. I have checked with the gun shop every month or so since then but no joy. I think that 9 months is too long to have to wait Is anyone else having problems getting standard parts out of Savage or is this peculiar to the land of OZ and the tyrannies of distance?:(

They are making and selling a lot of whole guns. Sure don't see any reason to have to wait for parts. I don't know if Savage can sell/ship to you directly (being out of country), but I'd call them myself and ask for it yourself. In the States, you'll have to have them send you a liability release first if you're not an FFL gunsmith, but that's no big deal.
