synthetic stock stiffening?

Ive got a model 10, 22-.250 that is 11-12 years old. and has the pretty flimsy synthetic stock. its a varmint/predator hunter, and i have a bipod mounted on the front of the forearm. would it be beneficial to try to stiffen the forearm with a glass bedding kit and possibly some aluminum rod? i would prefer not to spend the money on an aftermarket stock at this time as I would rather put the money towards better optics, and into reloading ammo for it. any advice or links to instructional articles would be appreciated. ive found lots of info for wood stocks, but not so much for synthetic.

Yes that helps. Thank you. I've not actually pulled my action and barrel out of the stock yet, so I don't know how its molded. But the concept is the same.

I've done epoxy, epoxy with carbon fiber arrows, epoxy and steel rods...
All "work" but unless you really like the stock... Stock; think of going from a flimsy cowpie, to a rigid one.

I intend to at some point. This is just a more cost effective route for the moment. And something I can take some D I Y pride in.

Yes and no. You will find that once you get it stiffened up in front, the area around the front action screw is flimsy enough to now become the fulcrum point for all movement forward of it.

Thank you, I will take that into consideration. Are there any remedies to reinforce this area also?

Remedies are available from outfits such as Boyd's, Bell & Carlson, Hogue, etc....
