I just picked up a Hog Hunter chambered in .308. I'm pretty excited about the rifle but I'm a little disappointed in the blind mag. I plan on ordering a Choate tactical stock that is set up for the DBM and converting the gun. I would like to do the work myself but this is the first rifle I've owned that has the blind mag so I have never dealt with anything quite like it before. I was hoping someone could recommend a good priced DBM to start with and then a little info on what the conversion consists of. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Savage factory steel DBM frame (top bolt release) that will drop into a Choate Tactical inletted for Savage factory DBM: https://store.savagearms.com/frame-assy-short-matte-dbm.html
Savage factory steel matte triggerguard (top bolt release): https://store.savagearms.com/trigger-guard-matte-at.html

The 308 magazine for this rifle is 55105, but here are the parts required to assemble one yourself:

Steel frame DBM 308 mag box: https://store.savagearms.com/mag-box-short-std-nfs.html
Steel frame DBM 308 mag follower: https://store.savagearms.com/review/product/list/id/4376/
Steel frame DBM steel magazine bottom: https://store.savagearms.com/mag-bottom-short-matte-dbm.html

You can simply purchase the steel magazine bottom and install that on the mag well/follower that came with your rifle.

I don't think I could have asked for a better answer than that. Thanks a lot for the help.
