Savage model 67 barrel removal

I have done some research and am unable to get a definitive answer to "Is it possible to remove the barrel on my Stevens model 67?"
The model 67 is series E and the serial number is E525176. I have read that it is and I have read that it isn't. So I figured I would ask here.

Honestly not sure, all my exploded views have the barrel attached to the frame, says you can order a new barrel so I'm guessing it's threaded in, not sure why they didn't show it as a separate piece away from the receiver though.

Right?!?!?
That's where I'm at. If you go to Numrich's they list a replacement barrel (out of stock). I would love to put a slug barrel on it and use it for deer hunting here in Illinois. However I'm not willing to ruin the shotgun trying to remove the barrel.
It is currently a modified choke. It really works well with the clay's, but I'd like to take a couple deer with it.
