If you are shooting off a front rest, make sure the fore end stop is not touching the bottom of the barrel. Mine was.

So assuming this solves the problem, my question is would it fall under the (something) catagory or the (something else) catagory?lol

My Savage 16 in 7mmm-08 after a few shots will get hot and produce vertical stringing. I give ample cooldown time between shots.

Now that you mention this... I have heard it somewhere else also.

Personally, I was having this problem a couple summers ago shooting my .54 cal Great Plains Rifle. The temp was a whopping 90+ degrees and not only was the gun extremely inaccurate and shooting higher with every shot, but it kicked my fool head off. Heat can make a gun shoot all over the place.

I will be looking for a different barrel. I lost too much time and money on this one.

Keep us informed. Are you sending the barrel somewhere to have it checked?

several questions...
what ammo are you shooting?
what barrel..stock or after market?
did you bed the riffle?
do you have creep in the trigger?
are you letting the barrel cool between groups?
ive got more but lets start there.
