I'm new to Savage rifles but I like all 3 of mine and they shoot better than my Remington.
I guess I would call myself a Savage convert.
I'm confused about the model 112.
Someone has offered me a model 112 BVSS in 6.5X284.
How can this be? The Savage web site doesn't even list a model 112BVSS.
Is this a long action? If it is then has the person put a 6.5X284 barrel on it?
He said it is center feed. Is this an internal box magizine.
To those that are more experienced than I please help explain all this to me.

It could possibly be a custom shop rifle, but I'd say no. I'd bet it is a gun put together with a BVSS stock. If the action is stainless, it could have started out a 116. The only 6.5-284 repeaters that I know of are the 111 Long Range Hunters, and they are blue. No doubt someone rebarreled it.

Actually the gun probably came from Bill Hicks Co. They had a limited run of 6.5X284 BVSS it also came in 300 Win mag, 7mm Rem mag, 25-06, 30-06. All are center feed stainless 112 actions.
