I just purchased a Savage 99 take down model with a serial number of 315,7XX. It has a recoil pad on it that I want to replace and I'm wondering what butt plate will fit my gun properly. It doesn’t look like the stock was cut when they installed the recoil pad. The stock is still curved slightly. This Savage was made in the 1928 time frame. Thanks.

Depends on the model.

Is it checkered or uncheckered? Whats the barrel length and caliber?

Right now it can be a 99B, 99F, 99G, or a 99K. I'm thinking it's gonna be either an F or a G as the other two are pretty uncommon models. Does it have a pistol grip or a straight stock?

I'm looking for a butt plate for my Savage Model 99G which is a take down model. My research shows I need a "steel shotgun" type butt plate. I tried the butt plate from my 1950's era Model 99F but it wasn't a fit. Anyone know where I might buy one.

I looked for it but didn't see it. Can you give me a little more info? Thanks!

I usually don't like posting live auctions but I'm pretty sure there aren't 102 people following this one:
