View Full Version : B-Mag Series: Fix for sticky/tight safety with Boyd's stock upgrade (B-Mag)

So I got a stock from Boyd's and it was a drop in fit but the safety would no longer function.

I spent a good bit of time studying it and removing material on the side and rear of the safety switch. I got it working much better but it would still be tight depending on how hard you pushed down on the switch to move it forward/backward.

So I studied the safety and I noticed that it flexed up and down quite a bit because it was a plastic piece of junk. I was actually surprised how much plastic they used on the internals of the gun.

But anyway, I figured out that when you pressed on the switch to move it forward/backward, the pressure was pushing the switch down until it was in contact with the wood of the stock. I did not want to remove this wood because it held the red safe/fire dot and it would be a pain.

So, I went to the garbage and got a clear plastic container. I found a lettuce container. Cut out a small fingernail size chunk and trimmed it to fit the notch in the stock. I fit it in and added a little spray adhesive to make it sticky.

My safety slides back and forth like butter now.

See the pics below. I did a sloppy job because I wasn't sure if it would work at all. It was really easy and I think I will do it again but take my time.
