axis 338-06 build

Who where has built a 338-06 off the savage axis action? What barrel maker did you use? how did it shoot? im getting ready to build one using an axis action and was just wondering how your all builds went. Thanks

Sure wish there were some answers on this. A 338-06 is just plain intrigueing. Looks like a Axis would be a great action to build from without breaking the bank if a reasonably priced barrel can be had.

Yes I agree. Ive got my axis action ready. now im going to get a boyds stock for it and I will be ordering a barrel from Jim @ Apache Gun Works with a heavy sporter barrel contour, tappered to .699" @ the muzzle. Will be posting back here with my results when Im finished with the build.
