Just got a Boyd's pepper laminate prairie hunter stock for my B-Mag.

Pretty good drop in fit but my safety would not work.

Looking at the way the safety works it was actually the wood pinching the sides of the tang and not material behind the safety that was the problem. I went at it with some sandpaper wrapped around a piece of scrap wood and took off a tiny bit of material.

Took me about a 1/2 hour because I wasted time removing material behind the safety before I realized that the sides were the problem.

Any other tips/tricks/problems/solutions encountered by Boyd's stock owners out there?

Also, my barrel is free floating(ish) now but seems to touch at the left front. I thought this was a problem with the original plastic stock but seems to also affect the Boyd's stock? I thought I saw a thread about putting an O-ring on the barrel. Is that the fix for this problem?

Thanks.

Thanks. To fix the issue in the barrel channel, sand the area making contact with the barrel until you can slide a business card all the way back to the action without it binding. Reseal the areas in the barrel channel you sanded to keep moisture from swelling the wood.
