I'm going to buy a new scope for the Axis to replace the Kaspa. My bolt doesn't hit the scope now but I'm wanting a bigger 3x9 50 scope. I watched a review on youtube by Nutnfancy where his bolt was rubbing against the scope because the lift is so high. What do I need to look out for so this doesn't happen. I will probably put on a leupold or a vortex.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Stay away from the Nikon Prostaff.
it seems to be to biggest offender when it comes to getting in the way of the bolt throw.

I think there was another one somebody had trouble with. Try the search function and it'll show up.

Of course, you can always do what we all did. Grind the top side of the bolt handle flat so it clears the scope...

something is amiss, I used a Tasco 6-24 x42 scope on my axis .223 with a cheap set of med high mounts and I have not had any trouble

I bought an Axis scoped package when they were called the Edge. The bolt handle hit the scope. It was unimpressive.

A great deal of the headache in selecting a scope and mounts to go on a rifle is not the determination of specs, but rather figuring out what fits. If I had a scope I wanted to use and found that the objective bell was interfering with the bolt handle, I'd first look to try higher rings and adjust my stock accordingly.

When I bought an new scope for my Axis an alert salesman informed me that he had been running into this problem mounting scopes and steered me to high mount rings. Good call.

I've got a Bushnell 4x12x40 custom AO ( Gander Mtn ) on mine with I believe medium rings and it clears but barely.

Grind the bolt handle polish if ya want. A little black matte n good to go.
