I found that two kits of the Leupold 2 piece scope mounts for the Savage 110 will yield two contoured mounts that work great on my Savage Axis .223 rifle. The total cost for both was around 16 bucks (each kit is $7.99 at Academy). Try it this way or spend the 35+ bucks for a one piece rail.

I still do prefer the rail for its more flexible ring spacing and placement options, but if you've got a setup that works, cool!

One of these days I will go with the rail. But just getting started on this build I found that my Bushnell Elite 3200 scope mounts just fine with the preferred eye relief with these two mounts. Thanks for the input, Doc.

Good deal! I've heard a lot of good things about the 3200. I actually have one in my scope drawer that's waiting for a rifle!
