I need some help, I have a Model 114 7mm Rem mag, left hand, I was going to install a bolt lift kit on this rifle, I took the bolt handle off and looked at what I had for a kit and decided that this was not going to help with the bolt stiffness, it's not that bad , so my problem is when I went to put the bolt back together its a 100x worse, you really have put some muscle into to lift the bolt handle, I do have a model 11 that I switched the bolt handle with no problems, any ideas what I did wrong

My Savage 200 was very stiff. I just got it back from SSS, had Fred do a T&T job on it, it is incredibly smooth and easy to cycle now. Took about 6 weeks door to door. I had high hopes from reports I have read and it is better than I hoped for.

You have it assembled wrong if that was the result.

I would be happy just to get it back the way it was before I took it a part lol

I had it apart at least a dozen times all with the same results
You have it assembled wrong if that was the result.

Are you sure you have the handle lined up in the main bolt housing. It fits like a key so to speak.

Could be a scope base screw that is too long or action screw too long.

When you tightened the bolt assy screw could you feel the spring compressing? You should feel it as you tighten it up all the way till it stops. Are you turning the bolt down on a cartridge case or without.

Is the cocking sleeve on correctly?

Have you tried assembling the bolt without the firing pin assembly? That might narrow down it if is a problem with cocking or locking.

Out of pure curiosity did you make any adjustments to the trigger? Is it a accutrigger or not?????
