I picked up a savage rifle as I hear they are accurate. The one I got is a 110, but thats all I know. I was told it was a 110 FWSS, but mine is a blued rifle in 22-250. It has a 26 inch bull barrel, no accu-trigger, it us a single shot type, so I suppose the stock has extra bedding. He sauf it was a limited run in the 90's. Serial #F221×××. I was wondering if anyone was familar with this? Seems to be in good shape, good rifling and bright bore. Thanks

Got any pictures? Is the riffle new? Savages are known for not having the original barrel. Mr Sharpshooter, Jim Baker or some other experience poster will be along. Just keep reading and learning. If you go elsewhere they will send you here. Some of the real Savage guys help a lot on other forums too but this is the place to get your savage questions answered.

Sounds like a 12FVS to me, no special runs that were catalogued anyways.

Wood stock or synthetic?

It's basically a single-shot of what more recently was labeled the Model 112FV or a 110FP - both of which were essentially the same gun with a $40 price hike on the FP because it was "tactical". No extra bedding in the stock - in fact if you pull it off it should have a mag well in it as Savage used the same synthetic stocks for single-shots and repeaters.

As for the 112FWSS designation, the only time I've ever seen Savage use a W in their models was for a special run with a Turkish walnut stock (14/114W), and the SS would be indicitive of stainless steel, not blued, which as you indicated yours is not.
