Here are the first groups. No cold bore shoots, the groups were made with hot barrel after about 20 shots and no cleaning in between and 5mph variable wind. shooting from lead sled (not comfortable). All shots were done without changing zero. Top left CCI 17gr TNT JHP 1.4in. Bottom middle hornady 17gr V-MAX 1.08in with flyer and 0.80in without flyer. Top right hornady 20gr XTP HP 0.97in. Two in middle and one to center left were practice shots. No review on gun or scope yet as I have not tracked scope or tested the set ranges on scope for accuracy out to 300yards, or really played with the gun yet. I just mounted scope and shot a few groups to see what it is capable of. Better review to come next week when I am off work. Here are the pics!

+1 old guy: My .17 only gets good results with Hornady 20gr HP's. Everything else seems to be just a waste of time and money. Same thing applies to mt Savage 204 - it only likes Hornady's.

That is the gun that I was looking for when I bought mine. Couldn't find one, so I bought a marlin that looks identical. Oh and I saved about $100 too. The 20grs shoot great, but if you want to use the dial adjustment you will need to compensate for the difference as your scope is calibrated for 17grs. I have the same scope. Your poi should be close under 100 yrds but anything further you will have to experiment. The hornadays seem to shoot the best regardless of the gun.

BTW Very nice gun...Im jealous. ;)
