I was wondering if anyone had any pics of their rifles mounted in a Choate Sniper stock.

Thanks
Kris

Very nice looking rifle!! How do you like the stock? If you did it again would you get the same stock?

Thanks

I have a Choate US and a UV. I prefer the UV. It is just as stable a platform and it is lighter. The US also has some very sharp inpressed "checkering" that is meant to be used by gloved hands. Most folks I know knock the tops off with 220 sandpaper so it is a little easier on the hands.

Oops, mine's the Ultra-varminter. For the cost it's a good stock, there's enough adjustability in the cheekpieces (you can shim them if you're between sizes) and the buttstock to get them to fit most people.

You ain't kidding there, those points are harsh, I've thought about parking my new stock in the kitchen for when I need to grate cheese or garlic :P

I have this stock on a 110 tactical police .300 winmag. Its heavy and well built. Good deal I think ( unless you want to carry it somewhere! )

Here was my .308 Have since went with a B&C Medalist A2. Didn't like how the UV sat on the rear bag.

Hey Blue Avenger,

I'm leaning towards your setup, maybe not as short though.

How's the handgrip area? If I have to cut and sand, will it come out the same? Barrel channel?

Like it?

If using a rifle action you have to stay over the 26.5" total length or go to Jail. The stock which is what I am guessing you were referring to, you can do what you like.

The grip is hollow but could be filled with resin or epoxy. It is a bit thick feeling. I am going to fill mine and thin it some.
The forend is also hollow. I cut this one back to the stiffener inside. I was able to thin the sides of the forend to match the contour of the main body. the block out front is hollow so filling the forward grip area or the inside cavity is going to be needed to change the contour much. the majority if the stock is hollow and about 3/8 thick walls.

from the inside, it just looked easier to cut it here.
