This year I bought the Savage Model 11 300 WSM. I put on Leopold mounts and Prostaff 3x9x40 scope.Would like to make this a long range gun 300 yards plus. What steps should I look at doing to make this a tack driver. I looked at boyds stocks and some different bull barrels, but would like to here from some people who have the experience of building these .Thanks for all your answers.

Well either your looking at pillar and bedding a boys or spend some coin up front and avoid bedding issues and cut weight buy going with a mcmillan hs precision or chassis setup. Most use aluminum bedding blocks.

Sav 2 rifle basix trigger and maybe a brake

Welcome to the forum and enjoy!

I have the FCNS in the same chambering >>> http://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?38337-Got-my-1st-shortmag-ever&highlight=1st+shortmag. It shoots factory ammo <1 MOA (better if I do my part :p) at 200 yards. It's currently being fitted with a Benchmark tactical MB and will be working on hand loads with Berger 210s and 215s soon.

How does she shoot now? +1 on JCalhoun's recommendation. Good luck!
