Loose mag between shots

Shot my .270 for the first time today and loved it. One thing though- anybody else's mag have to be popped back into place after a shot? The back of my mag would pop out JUST enough to where it wasn't flush and I'd have to push it back in to chamber the next round. I really thought I had inserted it back end first THEN the front but maybe I didn't. Anybody else have this issue?

I have heard of several that have done this over and over again. A quick fix that I have done on my magazines, is to bend the rear tab backwards slightly. Not the little tab at the top, but the entire rear tab, starting at the line of holes along the back. Bend it out about 1/16", and you should be good to go.

Another thing you can do, is add a small piece of rubber inside the front magazine release tab and magazine body. It will tighten up the entire magazine so that it holds it properly.

My .308 started acting up at the range again yesterday. Out of the box the mag was loose. I had to send it back to Cabelas for a replacement. I also purchased a second mag. After 100 rounds both are starting to slip at the rear.First noticed when my rounds weren't loading. I can bend the tab but it would only be a matter of time. I consider this an inherent flaw in the design. Hopefuly, my fix will be a small bit of stiff rubber fitted and Gooped on the side of the mag to hold the metal tab more open. Keeping the mag tightly snapped in all depends on that little hook resting on to of the ledge inside. That is until the front clip gets weak.

Well, your kinda half right. The body is metal, the rear tang is metal. The base and front release are plastic.

I think what Robin was referring to are the metal DBM's that come with some of the 110 Models. I could be wrong though.

I was hoping to get something down between the tab and body to literally hold it out more permanently but, as I have found out and as you can see, there is noting to put it against, unless you spanned across the side metal. And that might effect the bullet positioning. So, for now, I am going to put more of a bend in it but like I said, I don't think it will stay put. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
