So I took my 9 y.o. son for his first hunt last weekend. It was kinda thrown together last minute, but we had a blast. We didn't see any deer or hogs from the stand, but did call in a tom which was strange I have never had one respond in the fall. We seen the biggest bobcat I ever seen on the way to the hunting grounds one evening. My son did good in the stand with noise discipline, but we got to work on movement a little before he gets to see much movement consistently. I got a few pics I will throw up later.

Kids outside enjoying the outdoors, and hunting with their old man. Can't get better than that. I'm planning to take my 7yr old with me one day for the upcoming Late Muzzleloader season.

Boots Josiah has been going with me on one hunting trip a year since he was three (You should have seen the harness I had to rig up for his little butt). It has always been a very enjoyable trip with some memories I will never forget. This was his first trip with his own rifle, where he could shoot a deer if we could get one to cooperate. If you ever want to know what your kid thinks about get him/her in a treestand for half an hour where they have to been still and semi-quiet. The stuff that they talk about in incredible. Now he thinks he gets to go on every hunt I go on, but we will stick with the "easy" hunts for a little bit longer. I think it is prob safe to say I have a new life long hunting partner and I couldn't be happier (well maybe when he shoots his first deer!).
