I was thinking of putting another bucket upside down on top of it, sorta like a cap, and write Haz Mat on it.LOL

This is my temporary solution, I call it a bucket of barrels, it's actually not that bad, it is very compact and I can keep adding to it, materials list : one 5 gallon paint bucket and 1" pvc pipe they come in 10' sections so you get 6 X 20" lengths out of 1 section, at least now I can start getting my barrels out of storage.

Nice! Has the added benefit of compelling you to fill all the empty tubes! I like it.

Anything, as long as they're standing in end. Lay them on their sides and they'll bend (over time).
Why/how do they bend laying on their sides?

If they're on a "flat surface", no bending. If they're touching on the ends, they'll sag in the middle. That's why "standing on end" and not leaning to one side or the other is the best. The heavier they are, the more chance to sag in the middle. The line of least resistance.
Crank shafts are big on bending because of all the weight.
Take a fresh turned crank and check it with a dial indicator. STRAIGHT!! Lay it on an uneven surface for a while and check it again. Bent!! That's why standing on end is best.

You stole my barrel storage method. It took years of work, numerous prototypes, feasibility studies, millions in grant money, copyrights & patents. I had to ask my family to send lawyers (guns & money). This was the end result.
