i want to get a boyds stock for my axis 223 but dont want something thats too heavy and also need something that will handle any weather as this is my coyote gun. what stock would be the best for this. id like to keep everything in the same spec of the original stock too.
Walnut classic or prairie hunter, etc. that is then pillarred and bedded by yourself. Good bedding will prevent the temp and humidity from affecting the accuracy of the stock due to excessive warping and building and changing of pressure/stress points. I say walnut b/c I think they are lighter than the laminates.

You would be better off using the factory stock in all weather conditions and keeping it lightweight

I want to put a bipod on the gun and the factory stock flexes too much for that.
