Are all Axis stocks the same ?

I mean like between a 223, 308 and 30-06 as far as the magazine opening ?

The factory stocks are the same. Savage uses two different trigger guards to accommodate long and short action magazines. So to go from a long action caliber to short action, you would need the short magazine and the trigger guard that fills the extra half inch of space. This was part of Savage's plan to simplify production.

Got it. So If I go from 223 to 308 its the same but I would need a new mag or to a 30-06 I would need a new trigger guard and mag.

Does anybody sell the trigger guards ?
