Some of you may know me from other forums. For those that do not, I'm a long time hunter and a new (6months) reloader.

After buying my son a Savage Edge/Axis in .223 and seeing the potential of this entry gun, I've decided to give Savage a closer look.

I like the Weather Warrior with the accustock. However, I need a LOP of 12.5" so I need to find a SS model in 7-08 and use an aftermarket stock.

Hope to learn and share knowledge with others.

Want the WW with Accustock in shorter LOP? Chop it, fill the opened butt end with epoxy and install another pad or try Bear Tooth slip-on.

Or go to Boyds for a wood stock, then bed and pillar. Good to go.

There are better, more expensive options for quality synthetics, but I don't have experience with any of them.

Sounds like you're looking for a model 16 in 7-08.
Shortening it up is not a problem, Very simple process.
Plenty of good folks around here willing to help walk you through it.
